We want our schools. Texas founders wanted this so much for us, they wrote it into the Texas Constitution. 


"Humbly invoking the blessings of Almighty God, the people of the State of Texas do ordain and establish this Constitution.
 

Article 7, Section 1, There is a need for a general diffusion of knowledge as being essential to the preservation of the liberties and rights of the people. 

 

And to that end, the Legislature of the State has the responsibility to establish and make suitable provision for the support and maintenance of an efficient system of public free schools."

Public schools are the backbone of Texas — from rural towns to urban neighborhoods. A legion of organizations support students, parents, and communities from all directions. 
 

Celebrate Public Schools exists to connect, empower, and amplify the growing movement to protect and strengthen public education in Texas. We provide this hub to access the rich resources of coalition organizations and to promote their work. We’re here for all to go further — together.

Vision

Our Purpose​

Celebrate Public Schools is a grassroots effort to connect public school advocates and support the ecosystem of these organizations across Texas by:

  • Building a shared story about the civic, economic, and moral value of public education.

  • Creating resource networks for educators, parents, organizers, and policy experts.

  • Equipping local leaders with the tools to educate, advocate, and mobilize.

  • Spotlighting community voices from every region and political background.

  • Fostering cross-partisan trust grounded in a shared belief in strong public schools.

We focus on coordination over duplication, hope over fear, and facts over noise. Our work is rooted in:

    We connect dozens of groups across Texas—PTAs, civic groups, policy advocates—to amplify what’s already working.

  • Big Tent Engagement
    Public education benefits everyone. We help local leaders frame messages that unite, not divide.

  • Information Equity
    We produce clear, accessible materials tailored to families, chambers of commerce, school board observers, and more.

  • Positive Messaging
    We reject divisive narratives and focus on what brings us together: a belief that public schools are worth celebrating, defending, and improving.
