PURPOSE
Save Texas Schools is a long-standing, nonpartisan grassroots movement advocating for fair school funding, fewer high-stakes tests, and opposition to vouchers. With a history of organizing mass rallies and influencing legislation, the group brings together Texans of all political backgrounds in defense of public education as a civil right.

OUTREACH
Save Texas Schools is fueled by a broad and inclusive coalition of parents, teachers, students, faith leaders, and civic-minded citizens from every corner of the state. Many volunteer or serve as local leaders, organizing rallies, town halls, and legislative outreach.

The group thrives on intergenerational participation, bringing together retired educators side by side with student advocates and young families. Regardless of political party, all members are united by a shared commitment to ensuring public education remains a protected right for every Texas child.

Grassroots power for public school justice.

 Stop Vouchers and Privatization

Save Texas Schools organizes volunteers, hosts town halls, and lobbies legislators to defeat voucher bills. The group works to expose how privatization drains resources from neighborhood schools.

Fix School Finance

The organization advocates for funding formulas that close equity gaps and provide adequate resources for all districts. It pressures lawmakers to prioritize education in the state budget.

End Harmful Testing Practices

Save Texas Schools opposes the overuse of standardized testing and supports reforms that shift focus to meaningful, classroom-based assessments. They highlight how test-focused accountability harms students and narrows the curriculum.
