PURPOSE
Republicans for Public Ed is a principled conservative group committed to supporting public schools, opposing vouchers, and restoring local control. It challenges the notion that pro–public education advocacy belongs solely to the political left.

OUTREACH
The group is composed of Republican voters, officeholders, former educators, and parents who are fiscally conservative but passionately believe in public education as a public good. Many are disillusioned with recent partisan efforts to defund or politicize schools.

Conservative values. Strong public schools.

Opposing School Vouchers on Conservative Grounds

The group argues that vouchers lack accountability, increase bureaucracy, and hurt rural communities. It presents an alternative conservative case for public investment in neighborhood schools.

Restoring Local Control Over School Policy

Republicans for Public Ed advocates for keeping education decisions close to home—away from state mandates or political interference. They emphasize local school boards and community-based governance.

Rebuilding Bipartisan Coalitions for Public Schools

They work to bridge political divides by uniting Texans across the spectrum around shared values like transparency, responsibility, and quality public education for all children.
